Steve Jobs gave the green light to VoIP for the iPhone. Enterprises increasingly are giving the green light to VoIP. Stands to reason there’ll be a lot more iPhones–by far one of the coolest and smartest of the smart phones on the market (it’s already captured 28 percent of the smart phone market in the U.S.)–in the hands of leading edge business users. And that, says the Wall Street Journal, is going to be a headache for IT departments who, in many cases, hate the device. The iPhone isn’t as secure as other enterprise smart phones, says the Journal, works only with AT&T, and users who lose the phone–reality check here–can’t erase the data on the phone remotely, and that’s prompted some IT department to ban the phone.
